Rusted Bucket Farm Stand opened in June 2026 - brand new. For now we will be stocked Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 - 5:30. There will be fresh flower bouquets for $5 (without the vase) stunning hydrangea stems for $2 each, assorted annuals $1 each, tomatoes are just starting to ripen, cukes, and herbs, cool plants in cool containers, botanically printed textile, note cards, staghorn ferns, and…..

Here’s the inside “Shiny Girl” story - proceed at your own risk:

Shiny Girl - because that describes me to a T. I am easily distracted by goats, flowers, music, sunrays through tree branches and good cornbread with no sugar and a couple sticks of butter.

The Rusted Bucket Project began as a container garden business. It was a glorious 3 year “project” that has now metamorphosed into the home base for my blogging, sporadic workshops and the not to be missed events at the farm and other beautiful spots.

I’ve worked as a beautician, bartender, waitress, vet tech, stall cleaner, Burger-King drive thru professional, intelligence specialist and operations specialist in the U.S. Navy, horse handler, garden center employee and gardener, just to name a few. Home has been in NC, FL, MD, VA, TN, IL, NE, MN, KS, PA, and Spain. Now I’m back in NC for good.

I created an award for recognizing awesomeness - when thank you just isn’t enough - and I named it
The Golden Goat Award. There is a link to the award at the top of this page.
