On June 29th a Golden Goat was awarded to Mr. Jesse Walker. Mr. Walker is a retired Greensboro firefighter who volunteers at the Greensboro Fire Academy. He was nominated by class 78. Here is the write up from his award.
Congratulations on being recognized for your awesomeness with the Golden Goat Award. You were nominated by the 78th class of the Greensboro Fire Academy for your extreme generosity, selflessness, and commitment to the department and its future.
After a 38 year career you have continued to invest your own time and effort for 14 years, expecting nothing in return. Everything you do is done with the intention of helping and improving the academy and department.
Thank you for all you’ve given the city of Greensboro, the fire department and countless fire fighters. Please continue to set the standard and provide recruits with an example of the passion, selflessness and dedication the city deserves.
You are making a difference and we appreciate you.
